This prop has been one of the most challenging pieces I've done, but really fun to learn from. The model is based heavily off of Baldi Konijn's Dungeon Door concept art. https://www.artstation.com/artwork/3a0yo After creating the sculpt and low res, I tried to use the colors of the reference, and wasn't happy with how it looked. I instead used photos of Blizzard's recent showcase of Kul Tiras in World of Warcraft as a color theme. Happy Halloween! I’ve always loved the Warcraft hand painted art style, and I was Inspired by the in-game Hallow’s End event in World of Warcraft. My goal was to create a 3D scene that a player could stumble upon in Azeroth, to trick or treat at. Deep within the jungles of Azeroth, lives the animal called the Dozer. This drowsy creature is revered by druids for their ability to remain in the Emerald Dream even while in the heat battle. However, some speculate they are instead druids, who have followed the path of the Sloth and have become to lazy to revert back to their original forms.
In this project I wanted to make a creature and mount that could exist in the universe of World of Warcraft. I wanted to be as accurate to in game models and aimed have it share the same poly count as well as texture resolution as models in game. I was inspired to make this based on Ashleigh Warner’s creation of the pet, “Daisy the Sloth”.
