3d model of a real life linothorax, weighting over 40 pounds! Model has been made to be used in the mod Imperium Surrectum for the game Rome TW: Remastered. This was the very first project i made while actually understanding how the PBR textures interacts with each other. Also, textures on this particular model were “handmade" using photoshop. This particular set of two-piece cuirass (nimai-do gosoku) armour is of exceptionally high quality. During the Edo period (1615-1868) the Tokugawa shogunate enacted a four-class system. The warrior class was the hegemonic group, and armour and other related items were displayed to demonstrate their power and prestige.
Armour during the Heian, Kamakura, Muromachi, and Momoyama periods was utilitarian, meant to protect its wearer from injury in battle. Japanese medieval warfare often involved a series of duels where combatants would call out their lineage and rank, offer a challenge and then agree or decline to fight. In this situation the identity of the combatants would be clear. A faraam armour knight I created for my Masters degree final year project. Based on the concepts and artwork of the Faraam Armour from Dark souls 2 & 3. The character is around 70k polys, with about 30k of that being hair cards. Sculpted in Zbrush and retopped in 3ds Max, textured in Substance Painter and Designer. Hair cards were created using Maya Xgen. The 3D model presents a digital reconstruction of solid and riveted rings of archaeological mail armour. To create 3D models of the rings, we used polygonal modelling functions of Blender software. In order to record the relevant measurements of the mail rings, we used a list of parameters. This list includes 11 parameters for a riveted ring and four parameters for a solid ring.
