One where the aesthetic of the vehicle is literally derived from the 3 pointed star of the MB emblem. What you see here is a future formula 1 type race car, where the backbone architecture of the vehicle grows from the the planes described by the points of the star logo. Asymmetrical driver position. Been playing alot of Dirt2 Rally lately. Became smitten with the first car I drove in the game, the classic Lancia Fulvia and decided to do a modern take on it. Using Gravity Sketch, with the most use of the new crease tool of any model I’ve done so far, I modeled this entirely in VR at full scale. Tremendous fun was had, interpreting the classic lines of this car into a modern day version. Most flying car proposals are pure sci-fi or represent some sort of compromise, they lack the functionality of either the car or the airplane - usually because they are trying to be an all-in-one solution. My idea is to split the flying car into parts: the people part, the flying part, and the car part - each gets to be good at what it does without compromising too much. This new form of the Bentley “Flying Spur” is more akin to a service like NetJets than a car lease. You don’t buy the car, you own pod with the seats. When you want to go somewhere, the car part autonomously drives you to the most convenient pickup point, the flying part grabs the pod, you fly to your destination where another car is waiting to grab your pod and drive you to wherever you need to go.
