Roger was a character from the latest Ice Age movie. We had to create a baby version of that character. This was a really fun one to model and texture. An ancient Egyptian figurine of a woman with bird-like features and ‘puncture’ decoration. Possibly dating to the Middle Kingdom or Second Intermediate Period, these figurines were previously thought to have fertility connotations, although modern scholarship is moving away from this interpretation. Whilst the exact function of these figurines is unclear, they may have had particular apotropaic and healing associations. Many of these figurines are found broken in a way that suggests ritual destruction.
