My submission for a past Sketchwars theme: redo a classic… My thought is that something went astray with the Thunderbird between 1963 and 1967. My 3D sketch is a proposal for a different aesthetic bridge between the lovely 1963 body style and the somewhat radical departure of 1967. This took 4 hours to do, completely done in 3D while immersed in VR using Gravity Sketch. I had 2D reference pictures in the scene, but all the ideation of the forms was done in 3D. This is a non-traditional medium (skipping 2D) so I did a bunch of tweaking with post process effects to give it a more grainy textured paper/punchy colors/rendered look … minus the dabs of white gouache for highlights! The Ford Mondeo Mk2 ST200 i made from scratch using blueprints and images for NFS ProStreet Pepega Edition.
It was the second car i made for the mod and the most challenging one i had to make.
Of course its not perfect, the model had some major changes over time including a whole overhaul of it because some proportions were off in many spots.
I tried my best in doing it as accurate as possible and im very happy with the final result.
And of course you car drive it and upgrade it in the mod!
I really recomment playing the mod because my friends put a lot of effort into it and they deserve it.
