Created in 2012 for a thesis project using ZBrush, XNormal, 3DCoat, Maya, and Photoshop. Torvald is a Dragonsmith, a blacksmith enhanced by dragon’s blood that can forge rare metals using dragonfire.
A man named Magnus Brann is believed to have been the first Dragonsmith, and was so affected by the dragon’s blood that his entire body became covered in scales, and his features changed to the point that he seemed half dragon. The Smith & Wesson Model 61, also called the Escort or Pocket Escort, is a self-defense pistol that was produced from 1970 to 1973. It is a five-shot (plus one in the chamber) semi-automatic recoil-operated pistol firing the .22 Long Rifle cartridge. They came in two variations, blued with faux-wood grips and nickel-plated with faux-ivory grips.
The pistol has been mainly forgotten except for its inclusion in the 1976 film “Taxi Driver” by Martin Scorsese. Robert De Niro’s character, Travis Bickle, creates a quick-draw device that he uses during the shoot-out at the end of the film.
