Hello! This is my entry for the #StorybookChallenge. Since I was a kid I always dreamed of being an astronaut and I read a lot of books about space. For this challenge I teamed up with my girlfriend, who is a professional childern's book illustrator, to recreate my desire to touch the stars. With this entry we wanted to pay homage to all the authors and illustrators that make all the childrens dream big with their books. All the modelling was based on her illustration, created on Maya and then hand painted on Substance Painter by me. It’s been quite a while, hope you’re doing well :) .
I made this project on my spare time during 1 week for a challenge organized by Stylized Station.
Modelisation with Blender ( except the Volcano, made with ZBrush / Blender ) and texturing with Substance Painter.
You can see this planet like a secondary level you could have in Super Mario Galaxy, where there’s no monsters or goals but only signs explaining you some facts about the Earth.
