Imperial Guard barracks for a Warhammer 40,000 mod I'd like to create. While I referenced numerous 40k images, I also drew a lot of architectural concepts from photos of French and German cathedrals and fortifications from the Atlantic Wall. Model was created in Maya. I’ve always been a massive fan of Warhammer 40K. Starting out with a Necron army in 2005. I’ve been wanting to do a piece like this for a while and have had a lot of fun in bringing the Kommando to life.
A Kommando (pl. Kommandoz) is a specialist Ork Boy who prefers to rely on “kunning trikz” instead of fighting his opponents head-on like most other Greenskins. A motorcycle of the Warhammer 40k Universe. This one is painted with the colors and emblems of the “White Scars” Space Marine Chapter. The White Scars are known for their “need for speed”, and were one of the legions that was defending the Imperial Capital in the siege of Terra during the Horus Heresy.
Since it’s based on a toy model, it didn’t have much details on some parts… So i look for some references and modeled some things “a bit” different: the tires, the steering handles, the dashboard, the seat and an actual motorcycle engine (with some modifications to fit it into the model dimentions, nothing too fancy though).
As everyone should know by now, the space marines, white scars, warhammer 40k universe images and emblems are the property of Games Workshop.
I was thinking of modeling also a Space Marine to pilot the thing but that is another work (i’m doing it right now).
