An example of a PDA-type unit used by, in this case, a worker repairing and investigating a damaged section of a city on Ganymede after Terran orbital bombardment. These PDAs are ultimately controled by the central unit, which houses the basic authentication module, a small battery, a reasonably powerful processing unit, and a few displays (most of which can be swapped). It has 3 expansion ports. In this example, the bottom port is taken up by an user-interface module, featuring a variant of a chording keyboard, as well as a joystick. The top port is taken up a screen, which also contains addtional RAM modules and a bigger battery. The side port is connected to a stiff ribon cable which is connected to a radiation meter, which is important, as the nuclear bombardment of Ganymede left a large number of sections of the cities dangerously irratiated. This model is a 1:1 replication of the original. All dimensions, angles, and curves are the same as the real life counterpart. The shoe is subdivision ready with a base polycount of 56,640 polys per shoe. The mesh uses four texture sets, all at 4096x4096 resolution, with the following maps in use: Base Color, Metallic, Roughness, Normal. The base color map contains the transparency information.
There is an optimized, One Mesh version which has a lower polycount, 25,872 polys per shoe. This was achieved by removing small stitches and smoothing out the sole of the shoe
