A 2.5D assignment from my CGMA course on Creating Stylized Game Assets with Ashleigh Warner! This project was heavily inspired by the Hermannshof Botanical Garden in Germany, where I used to stroll and read under the beautiful wisteria trees for hours as a child. Why no billboard textures?: My models use meshes for individual leaves and parts. Typically a billboard texture will be used to reduce poly count in leaf clusters. However, my models are not intended for games/VR but for closeups in raytracing such as Blender Cycles. Models here use meshes with individual leaves because billboard textures are notoriously slow in raytracing workflows.
