Yazd is a historic city in the center of Iran, and a world UNESCO site. The city is iconic for its adobe houses and endless towers.
The tower itself has a Timurian (Tamerlane) architecture. The dome part contains a set of repeating geometrical patterns, followed by two sections of caligraphy. The upper part is knotted Kufic calligraphy, it says Mecca ( مکه), the holy city of Islam. The second row is square Kufic calligraphy, reading Allah and another word I cant read.
