Coffin of Akhenaten, Tomb KV55 3D Model.
Download Coffin of Akhenaten in various files formats such as Wavefront Object format, Autodesk FBX, DirectX 9.0, Stereo Lithography and HTML5 JSON format.
Coffin of the Pharaoh Akenaten in the Egyptian Museum, Cairo, Egypt.
This coffin was recovered from a tomb in the Valley of the Kings in what has been designated Tomb KV55. The tomb was discovered by Edward R. Ayrton in 1907 while working for the wealthy American Theodore M. Davis. The tomb has been controversial since it’s discovery, originally being designated the burial of Queen Tiye. It has now been shown through DNA analysis that the remains found in the tomb are those of Akenaten himself. The DNA has further demonstrated that Akhenaten was the father of Tutankhamen (King Tut).
The face of the coffin and the name in the cartouche have been deliberately removed in an attempt to condemn the “heretic” pharaoh in the afterlife and erase his memory.
Information on the tomb can be found here. A scan of another artifact from the tomb can be seen here.

Wooden coffin of pharaoh Ramses II in the Egyptian Museum, Cairo, Egypt (CG 61020). This is the wooden coffin in which the mummified remains of Ramses II were found when it was recovered as part of the Royal Mummy Cache in tomb DB320. His tomb had been opened in antiquity and his mummy removed from its original coffin, rewrapped and placed in this reused coffin before being reburied. Tadinanefer Coffin 3D Model.
Download Tadinanefer Coffin in various files formats such as Wavefront Object format, Autodesk FBX, DirectX 9.0, Stereo Lithography and HTML5 JSON format.
The provenance of this coffin is uncertain, but experts believe it to have been produced at el-Hibeh in Middle Egypt, sometime between 664 and 330 BCE. It has several unique iconographical features that allow experts to determine its origin and relative date.
The names on the coffin are a little bit difficult to translate because of the way the glyphs are stacked together, and because the filiation of the deceased is expressed as it would be in Demotic instead of Middle Egyptian. In fact, there is a final glyph on the name of the coffin’s owner that experts are still trying to figure out, so the rendering of her name as Tadinanefer is provisional. Her father’s name is likely Pakhered. Her mother is Ireteru, which is a common name for men and women during the Saite period and later. None of them have any titles.
Date: probably sometime between 664 and 330 BCE.
