This is a recent project of mine, an attempt to take some old pre-college concept drawings and make something out of them. Ultimately it was an excuse to freehand paint a lot of filigree detail in a couple different styles (one style for the steel parts, another for the wood/pommel). Painting filigree is incredibly satisfying! All the geometry and baking was done in Blender, and the first pass of materials also, then I moved over to Substance Painter for the detailing.
As for the sword itself, the profile is based on a German Landsknecht zweihänder, but with an even longer grip, taking it almost into the polearm realm. It would be used similarly, with continuous sweeping and spinning to take best advantage of its size, but can be used almost like a pike if the wielder was up against a single opponent, or a mounted enemy 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 7156 polygons.

This model is a concept made to represent a space filled with water that one can relax in. This first year project was to design a stereotomic form and it’s ground keeping in mind material, human experience, as well as atmosphere. I chose to incorporate water in my model and hence designed a form that is submerged within another form full of water. I then decided to continue the pattern of nesting into my ground as well. I chose to use glass in order to create an invisible feel that lets people feel as if they are floating in space. As a person moves up, the ground space is lesser, signifying increasing solitude and focus due to lesser interaction with the outside world. All these elements combined guarantee a more focused, deliberate human experience in the space. Here are a pair of Dynamite sticks that I modelled for my Final Major Project at college, however they ended up not being used and were pushed to one side. Since I’ve now finished college, I thought I’d go back to it and rework the topology and polycount, as well as texturing it using Substance Painter to achieve optimum results. Even though its not perfect, I’m pleased with the result and may have a couple of other western assets coming up soon. Enjoy!
