This was my summer project before starting second year at DMU Game Art, although due to some module mix up, I spent about 3 weeks revisiting it on and off. The brief was to make a 10m x 10m realistic-style castaway island, using substance painter to texture. I originally planned to do a pirate-themed island and made extra props, but realised that they just didn’t work at all with the scene. Instead I’ve kept it very basic and natural. Water Liles, a project I did to practice the process of creating a plant for Games, started from sculpting the high poly water lilies meshes in Zbrush and then baking the mesh maps to a plane and PBR texturing in Substance painter, after that I created the cutout meshes in Maya by manually cutting meshes from a plane and then creating a variation in maya and finally previewed it in Marmoset toolbag.

Inspired by a toy from the ’80s, this vehicle has been fleshed out for a realistic representation as if one could actually operate it. Real world components and proportions are incorporated into the design to help acheive this.
