Following a Japanese theme, I created a pond featuring a bamboo spout with a bowl, a water lantern, lily pads and waterlilies. The bamboo spout and bowl references the Tsukubai and Shishi-Odoshi fountains commonly found in Japanese gardens while the floating lantern is inspired by Tōrō Nagashi, a Japanese ceremony where paper lanterns are released into the river.
This environmental prop was inspired by Inès “Ourka” Rotzinger’s concept art for Amber Isle (https://www.artstation.com/artwork/ZeBWom). The way they draw lily pads is really cute and I love the colours of the water, the foam streaks and the fun foam bubbles so I tried to preserve these traits in the texture and the 3D model.

The building was richly decorated but lacked a unified stylistic direction. The parapets are in the ancient Roman style. The lobbies decorated with marble columns, stained-glass windows, and lamps in the form of candelabra are a reminiscence of Gothic interiors. The pointed turrets around the spire resemble the domes of an Eastern Orthodox church. The extensive ruins are situated on the Costa de la Luz, some 15km north of Tarifa, by the small town of Bolonia and its beautiful beach. The site´s important history rests on the former city having been a strategic point for trade routes between Europe and North Africa; the Straits of Gibraltar are just 14km wide at their narrowest point, and Baelo Claudia profited from this proximity.
