Ahonen’s smartwear shoes are equipped with a measuring system that gives feedback to the athlete and the coach after each jump. Sensors in the shoe collect data on movements and pressures of the foot. After each jump the data is used in analysing the speed, timing and flight trajectory of the jump.
Janne Ahonen used these shoes in the 2007–2008 season, when he won his fifth Four Hills Tournament title. This is an M14 Battle rifle that has been converted to a prototype hybrid tech weapon. This was part of a series of weapons designed as part of a covert US military project that began in the mid 1960s. [REDACTED]. Project ATIW (Advanced Technologies Infantry Weapon). This particular prototype explored the idea of using chemical propellants and electromagnetism in tandem to fire the projectiles. The core of this weapon system operates mostly like a standard M14(without full automatic capability). An atmospheric diving suit (ADS) maintains surface pressure internally, protecting a diver from underwater pressure and eliminating the need for decompression. Treasure hunters developed early atmospheric diving suits to dive on shipwrecks. Commercial diving and oil drilling industries resurrected ADS in the 1960s. The JIM suit, named for test diver Jim Jarrett, was the first modern-day commercial ADS. It weighed 910 pounds and operated to 1,500 feet. The Navy began using ADS after testing the JIM suit in 1975.
