Aquaponics are cool. Growing your own food in general is kind of cool.
Food doesn’t need to take a cross-country drive from the farm to your dinner plate, but that’s how most of us eat. It’s just gross in my opinion.
I tried to imagine what a decently-sized aquaponic aquarium setup would look like if they were sold in pet/gardening stores. The setups I found sold online are too small to humanely keep beta fish in, they’re really just cruel science projects.

which in my opinion, it’s clearly inspired by the Japanese nagamaki, basically a katana with longer grip.
Made according to the prop from the movie. This weapon is 123x18x5(diameter.)
This is my first time trying to make the whole model ornamental on alpha alone, The result could be better IMO.
I’ve also specifically make sure that the blade itself is still pristine perfect while the rest are worn, indicating the master craftsmanship of the elves.
This is made for the mod game Lord of the Ring Conquest: Reimagined. It is heavily reduced.

This model was used in a rendered photo that I submitted to the 2018 (Edit: 2019) APS Metro show in Abuquerque as part of the “Digital Photography/Special Techniques” category. Unlike my CS:GO skins, this model was actually made by me. Made in Maya, and textured in substance painter, this NEC APC computer looks very nice in my opinion due to it’s 4K screen and emissive map. Weirdly enough I don’t remember this project taking very long. The model and texturing probably only took 3 hours and was made during school. But I am typing this at 1:16AM so I dunno. Enjoy my model.
P.S. I included 2 STOS basic references for lolz as well as a motherlover one that didn’t survive the resolution of one of the materials. Sad.
Edit: I don’t know why, but this didn’t make it in to the show. I honestly don’t know why. Even if the picture sucked (it didn’t) it should’ve made it in because of how few entries in the Computer Generated Art categories there were. Oh well. A personal project I started in September that got pushed back due to university work. After finishing the game I knew I had to make something for my portfolio to show praise as I am one of the few people with the controversial opinion that the game is a masterpiece, ultimately becoming my favourite game I’ve ever played. I’m a huge fan of Joel and Ellie and I was very invested in the continuation of their story.
I chose to model the guitar that Joel gives to Ellie as I felt that it was a physical embodiment of their relationship which is my favorite thing about the games. It’s also different to a lot of my other portfolio pieces as I tend to model weapons.
I found this piece quite challenging as the sunburst pattern on the body of the guitar took some time to get right as I had not done too much hand painted texturing within Substance Painter but I am very happy with the results.
