Third project in 3DS Max!
As always I had a lot of fun making this project but this one seemed to take awhile to get a well structured lion head. Luckily I have a lot of great friends to help critique my work during the process and it always leads to something much stronger than I begin with, otherwise this lion may still be looking like an angry bullfrog.
My friends also suggested I have a bit of a fixation on things with gems in their head. So far, they aren’t wrong, but it’s mostly because I love painting in the bright colored lights. smiling_face
Modeled in 3DS Max and ZBrush, retopologized in 3DCoat, unwrapped in 3DS Max and 3D Coat, painted in 3D Coat.

Location
Rhyolite is a ghost town in Nye County, in the U.S. state of Nevada. It is in the Bullfrog Hills, about 120 miles (190 km) northwest of Las Vegas, near the eastern edge of Death Valley.
