Most of the portals I have seen are either stone or metal, so I wanted to create a stylised wooden, rustic Portal with some wood paint dye that has faded edges. Something that you may find in a medieval fantasy or the witcher.
I used blender to create the model and substance painter to texture it.
Most of the model is texture painted, aside from the painting that I stencilled around the base and there are some wood fibres that are procedurally generated. I created a particle system in blender and use a vertex force to get them to rotate. Blender doesn’t have a built in way to export animated particles, so I found a script online that I ran in Blender to convert the particle system to an animated mesh.

This shall be a portal to hell, which was my first 3D Artwork. The Stones with the illuminating signs shall represent the seven mortal sins: Wrath, jealousy, pride, lust, greed, sloth and gluttony. I tried to get specific signs for each sin in the topology of the stones, which was rather bad. Now its clear I should have textured these signs on the rocks. That would have been much easier and the result has been better. In the inner space of the portal are tentacles, one for each sin. So the sinners will be grabbed by the specific tentacle and brutally thrown into the portal 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 12834 polygons.

The Aleksander class frigate was the largest Russian archipelago navy class ship in 1790 on the Baltic Sea. Five of these ships took part in the Second Battle of Svensksund on July 9th and were lost (taken over, sunk, or burnt), while eight frigates in total were built during the war of 1788–1790 against Sweden. Aleksandr class frigates had a typical ship rig of the period. Aleksandr class is known as an archipelago or rowing frigate. The hull has nine smaller holes between gun deck main gun ports.
