The ship is loosely based on the “new kingdom" trading vessels found in ancient egypt. the model was created during my internship at Vasco for a mobile game, using 3DsMax for modeling and Photoshop for texturing. due to performance I've only used diffuse textures. An ancient Egyptian figurine of a woman with bird-like features and ‘puncture’ decoration. Possibly dating to the Middle Kingdom or Second Intermediate Period, these figurines were previously thought to have fertility connotations, although modern scholarship is moving away from this interpretation. Whilst the exact function of these figurines is unclear, they may have had particular apotropaic and healing associations. Many of these figurines are found broken in a way that suggests ritual destruction.
