Based on Maeve Broadbin's Concept! https://www.artstation.com/artwork/6yZox Tried out a new workflow with this piece, which is starting off with a base mesh in Zbrush, sculpt all details, bake the Diffuse and AO in Substance Painter, add Color Gradients to the Diffuse and use that as a base for my Handpainted texture! I learned a lot in the process in regards to zBrush and polishing my Handpainted skills when its about metal and cloth. But I also realised that I end up changing things up a lot in the final stage, which means I still rely a lot on my handpainting! Decided to go wayyy out of my comfort zone with a fully handpainted model… and I’m pretty happy with it! The process took me much longer than expected, too, but better late then never hah.
I was obviously inspired by Zelda, so I wanted to make it a small contribution to that as well. And it was a good wood painting exercise!
Credits to rommalart for the model and Jasmin for the retopo! I did edit the UVs to fit my own work flow a bit better.

This is a diorama created from one of Jenny Brozek’s concepts ‘The Gate’ found on Artstation. I really loved the concept when I saw it and was desperate to make it in 3D. It was a really nice project to sink time and effort into and I learnt a lot throughout the process. I created the model in Maya, Textured in Substance Painter to get the basic textures and colours down before taking the maps into Photoshop to start the painting process. I appreciate Jenny for letting me make her awesome concept come alive in 3D and I hope you guys like it too :).
