In search for inspiration I went down to my basement (well, it’s COVID time, I don’t have too much options :D) and well, I found one - a 1870s Singer sewing machine. It's broken, almost every elements in it refuses to work properly and it got eaten by corrosion, but it's still beautiful and become the main reference for this project, although ornaments I've designed looks as later, kinda art deco style. Manufactured by absolutely fictional Willoughsby Manufacturing Comapny. This beautiful font used in Willoughsby Manufacturing Company logo is Grenadier NF by Nick Curtis. A large half destroyed war machine only barely clinging onto a street lamp for balance. Battered and barely repaired it slowly patrols the streets.
So this one took me way too long. I had the original Idea for it back in November and started working on it then, but then my bachelor’s thesis paper got in the way and I had to put it aside. It was originally going to be a realistic highpoly model, but my PC couldn’t handle it, I tried the last weeks to fix it in some way, but seeing how my software student-licences are probably gone soon I took the lowpoly and made it very stylised. I do like how it turned out.

This is a sewing machine model, based on a 1958 Singer 401a model (though this was not meant to be an exact replica). It does not contain any modeling for the mechanical bits inside, because this model I have made as a nonmoving prop in a larger project I am currently working on. However, it does contain some flat planes inside so that you guys can fake an interior with some clever texturing. This model is without textures (there will be a textured version later on, once the larger project is completed in coming months). Texturing (in progress) will be based on the Fallout 4 video game, mostly because I am playing that like crazy as of late, but also because I love Bethesda’s style of texturing their assets.
