I wanted to create a high quality Roman Gladius weapon in Maya and ZBrush. I modelled the base in Maya then the high poly in ZBrush. Textured and rendered in Substance Painter. Sculpted in VR with oculus medium. Painting on vertex isn’t great so I had to create shapes for everything (typically the moustaches and eyes).
I used an actual nutcracker on my desk as a reference :)
