Model of the Valley Forge from the 1972 science fiction movie Silent Running by Douglas Trumbull. Plot summary from IMDB: The film takes place in the not-so-distant future, at a time in which Earth's plant life has been decimated. Only a few specimens of flora have been preserved, and are currently in space in a fleet of orbiting greenhouses. When orders from Earth are received to destroy the greenhouses, botanist and ecologist Freeman Lowell (Bruce Dern) can't go through with it, and cannot persuade his three colleagues to help him save the plants, so he makes other “arrangements". The model was created in Blender while aiming to keep poly-count and geometry details at minimum levels (in favor of good real-time performance). A SciFi Spaceship Corridor done on Android with a Note 3. Given the fact that I had to unwrap faces one by one to make a flattened screenshot that could be painted and then re-wrap all faces back to their original place, this corridor has been the most ambitious and crazy of my projects on Smartphone. After this one I just abandoned helping Scalisoft debug Spacedraw : modeling is really fast when you know the app, but painting without an unwrapper is just insane ;)

The Glowglobe is a replica of one of my favourite movie props. These floating lamps produce an incredible mood for some of the most critical scenes in the movie. With limited close ups, it was hard to see some of the finer details— I’d love to know what the original designers think!
