The model was created in Blender while aiming to keep poly-count and geometry details at minimum levels (in favor of good real-time performance). Thanks to Mark Dowman (Lunadude) and DeviantArt-user unusualsuspex for providing orthogonal 3D views and photos that inspired this model. 3D Model is ready to download for free with 12 Texture files attached, this model contains 180500 polygons and 139090 vertices.

Remake of one of the film sets from the 1966 science fiction movie “Fantastic Voyage”. The film is about a submarine crew who shrink to microscopic size and venture into the body of an injured scientist to repair the damage to his brain. The submarine featured in the film, the “Proteus U-91035”, is a nuclear-powered Navy vessel, originally built to study the deep-sea spawning habits of fish. The particular scene, depicted in this model, takes place inside the CMDF headquarters, where (in the film) the Proteus is introduced to the viewer for the first time. The novel “Fantastic Voyage” was written by Isaac Asimov. The Proteus was designed by Harper Goff, who also created the Nautilus for the movie ‘20.000 Leagues Under the Sea’.
