He had studied in Bologna under the direction of De Maria; in 1813 he came to Rome, like De Fabris, and came to the attention of Canova, the greatest sculptor of the period, who took him into his studio. The statue of St. Paul is 5.55m in height, on a pedestal 4.91m high. It was restored in 1985-86 through the generosity of the Order of the Knights of Columbus." I made this version of the st paul statue for 3D print using zbrush and the original sculpture as reference. Clean topology, decimated for 3D print and scalable. Hope you enjoy it! Temple of Zeus, Olympia, Greece, about 460 BC The impassive, square-shouldered Apollo is an early and powerful exemplar of the hard, simplified realism of the fifth century Bc which we know as ‘early classical.
The god stood in the centre of the west pediment of the temple, with his right arm extended in an imperious gesture to calm a battle of Greeks and Centaurs that raged around him. The left hand held his separately added bow.
The unfinished back has a cutting for attaching the figure to the pediment wall. The statue was carved in high-quality marble from the Aegean island of Paros and is presented here in a plaster cast.

The Bodhisattva is the central figure of Mahayana Buddhism. He has attained a high spiritual level but he differs his enlightenment to help other men on the spiritual path.
Here we see a representation of Guanyin (Avalokitesvara in Sanskrit), the bodhisattva of compassion. While in India, this bodhisattva is still depicted as a man, in regions further east of Asia he looks like an androgynous, even a woman. Unlike the soberly dressed Buddha, bodhisattvas often wear royal garments, ornaments, crowns and other jewels. This work shows a remarkable necklace enhanced with two entangled dragons.
The attitude represented is that of the “royal relaxation” (Maharaja-lilasana in sancrit).
