Like most people, I am a fan of Autumn, and wanted to combine my recent photogrammetry work with something seasonal. This was created from an actual pumpkin with photogrammetry. I photographed and processed the gourd in Metashape to create a hipoly models from which the textures were baked. I then created game ready low poly model and used Substance Designer, and Substance Painter to edit the source bakes to create a fully PBR texture set 3d model

Gaara’s gourd from naruto, used to carry weaponized sand. This is my interpretation of what Gaara’s gourd could look like in the real world if it were made from realistic materials. The gourd is made of clay, with the cloth band in the middle consisting of a silk-like fabric. I assumed the symbols around the gourd to be talismans, and gave them the appearance of being “stuck on” to the gourd. This one was a lot of fun, and really triggered my nostalgia! UPDATE: I added some new texture details to the gourd, changing the glossiness to give it more of a sandy appearance.
