Remake of one of the film sets from the 1966 science fiction movie “Fantastic Voyage”. The film is about a submarine crew who shrink to microscopic size and venture into the body of an injured scientist to repair the damage to his brain. The submarine featured in the film, the “Proteus U-91035”, is a nuclear-powered Navy vessel, originally built to study the deep-sea spawning habits of fish. The particular scene, depicted in this model, takes place inside the CMDF headquarters, where (in the film) the Proteus is introduced to the viewer for the first time. The novel “Fantastic Voyage” was written by Isaac Asimov. The Proteus was designed by Harper Goff, who also created the Nautilus for the movie ‘20.000 Leagues Under the Sea’. Artstation here : https://www.artstation.com/artwork/9eO4ZR One month assignment. The goal was to make a next-gen character, ready to be implemented into a game. I really wanted to make a scifi character in his combat suit. I was inspired by Star Citizen, but Halo’s designs are really the best ones for this. For the process, at first I made the lowpoly model in Maya, then I went to Zbrush to subdivide it and put all the details needed with my own alphas. I baked the highpoly model in susbtance painter, and then I tried to make several smart materials to texture the whole character. I also did 2 different camos, because I needed a character that could fit in my upcoming space station project. I also rigged my character with my own auto-rig, therefore I was able to put it in several poses. And finally, for the rendered pictures, I used marmoset. 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 52158 polygons.
