This is a Gottolengo helmet from Italy, from the 350 - 150 bc period. Made for the RIR: Imperium Surrectum mod, for the game Rome Total War Remastered. Made in Blender - 1037 vertices The creative process consists of modelling the low-poly version, followed by high poly version through the use of the Multi-Res modifier. Any details that the piece might present are sculpted on this copy, after which, they are baked into its low poly counterpart. Section 19/20: The West of Gate South of the Western High Gate of Medinet Habu.
At some point near the end of the 20th Dynasty, a turbulent time of civil war in ancient Egypt, the temple precinct of Medinet Habu was invaded. At this time several large blocks from the upper courses of the Western High Gate were intentionally toppled and subsequently buried under rubble and debris. Apparently forgotten when the gate was later dismantled and its stone recycled, the blocks in this section and Section 20 were discovered during Hölscher’s initial survey.
