This ship was created as a submission for a space-themed competition created on a Discord server called: Fly Forge. The model took me 4 days to complete, the textures are pretty basic as I am still learning how to make good textures in Blender. The ship itself is based on the ship from IXION and the Loss Nauvod from The Expanse, with some extra bits being based on Kerbal Space Program modder; Nertea. A low poly Skipray Blastboat, from the Star Wars expanded universe / Legends. This older imperial ship featured a rotating wing, and in the post-OT era more often than not appeared with in rusty brown tones, often operated by bounty hunters or pirates, so I’ve included 2 different colorschemes with this one, aas well as a cockpit interior.
I followed the top view proportions and scale of the original design, but I was curious to try a more streamlined look, with the front wings better integrated into the fuselage. I made a few other changes and also swapped on a turret inspired by the imperial troop transport as seen in The Mandalorian. The old official model was called a GAT-12 Skipray Blastboat, you could think of this as a slightly more lightly armed GAT-10 design, better at atmospheric flight. Still instantly recognizable by any EU fan!
