The 3D model presents a digital reconstruction of solid and riveted rings of archaeological mail armour. To create 3D models of the rings, we used polygonal modelling functions of Blender software. In order to record the relevant measurements of the mail rings, we used a list of parameters. This list includes 11 parameters for a riveted ring and four parameters for a solid ring. The accuracy of the digital replicas of the rings was 0.01 mm. These assets were generated from scans of beach pebbles and stones I picked up on the shore between Plouguerneau and Roscoff, in France. I did not specifically select extraordinary samples, but rather tried to go for a broad diversity of colors and shapes in order to create an interesting pack.
Each prop in this bundle comes with .fbx, .obj and .dae formats, and is available in 5 different resolutions:
LOD0: 15k tris - 4096x4096 textures (albedo and normal maps)
LOD1: 5k tris - 2048x2048 (those are the ones visible here!)
LOD2: 1.5k tris - 1024x1024
