T1 Tower - La Défense / Paris The T1 tower is an office skyscraper located in the municipality of Courbevoie (in the district of La Défense, west of Paris. The construction of this tower began in 2005 and ended in 2008. With a height of 185 meters, it is in 2016 the sixth tallest building in France, after the First (231 m), Montparnasse (210 m), Incity (202 m), Majunga (195 m), and Total (190 m). Designed by the firm of architects Valode and Pistre, it has the shape of a sheet folded in two, resembling a sail inflated by the wind. The south façade of the tower is strictly vertical (towards La Défense), while on the north side the façade descends gradually towards Courbevoie thus ensuring a transition with the lower town.
