May.26th.2022 Colliery Dam, Nanaimo, BC A random newspaper stack found at the parking lot near the dam, probably dumped by some kids who were too lazy to do their route… I can't say my brothers and I never did that when we were younger. This is a real sad, wet, stack. 143 images were used to generate the model. "HourPost" Sci-fi Digital Newspaper Rack 3D Model.

This is a small prop for urban sci-fi scenes. I came up with the idea as a science fiction version of a modern paper newspaper vending machine. Although newspapers vending machines have been being phased out for some time due to the transition to the internet… I thought this concept would work well as something to fill in an urban environment.
The rack was modeled in blender and textured in substance painter. The screen animation uses 16 planes for each frame, cycled through using shape-keys. The screen animation graphics were created within blender using keyframe animation, the principled BDSF shader, and the compositor 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 820 polygons.
