A simple stylized fantasy tree. I really like how it turned out! In the future, I think I'll join the leaves on the tree to the actual tree model, and potentially fill it in more than I have. I tried to stick to simple colours, and give it a bit more texture than just being flat, while still keeping the look. I've always been a sucker for glowing mushrooms. Or glowing anything. Modeled in Blender and textured in Substance Painter. Why no billboard textures?: My models use meshes for individual leaves and parts. Typically a billboard texture will be used to reduce poly count in leaf clusters. However, my models are not intended for games/VR but for closeups in raytracing such as Blender Cycles. Models here use meshes with individual leaves because billboard textures are notoriously slow in raytracing workflows.
