This model was used in a rendered photo that I submitted to the 2018 (Edit: 2019) APS Metro show in Abuquerque as part of the “Digital Photography/Special Techniques” category. Unlike my CS:GO skins, this model was actually made by me. Made in Maya, and textured in substance painter, this NEC APC computer looks very nice in my opinion due to it’s 4K screen and emissive map. Weirdly enough I don’t remember this project taking very long. The model and texturing probably only took 3 hours and was made during school. But I am typing this at 1:16AM so I dunno. Enjoy my model.
P.S. I included 2 STOS basic references for lolz as well as a motherlover one that didn’t survive the resolution of one of the materials. Sad.
Edit: I don’t know why, but this didn’t make it in to the show. I honestly don’t know why. Even if the picture sucked (it didn’t) it should’ve made it in because of how few entries in the Computer Generated Art categories there were. Oh well. This was a fun project to make, not only because of the classic gaming console but also the early 80’s TV. Admittedly, I never actually owned an Atari 2600, but my dear grandma had a TV like this for many years when I was a kid, so it’s sentimental to me.
There are many textures included, but don’t let it scare you too much; they’re all appropriately labelled and easy to apply. A lot of them are 128x128 uniform color textures, which shouldn’t add much of an extra workload to your scene, and some materials share the larger textures as well.
There are several cartridge materials included, and you can easily change the TV screen texture, so you could get really creative with what game is playing in your scene! Or you could have it not playing a game and just put your own video on there or something, anything you’d like!
