L'hôtel du Lac est un ancien hôtel de style brutaliste construit entre 1970 et 1973 selon les plans de l'architecte italien Raffaele Contigiani. L'hôtel a fermé ses portes en 2000 et s’apprête à être démoli, de même les travaux de démolition semblent être imminents. L'architecte et militant Sami Aloulou ne cesse pas de lancer des cris d'alarme pour sauver un hôtel souverain batit pour se rebelle contre les formes architecturales traditionnelles et coloniales.
