Cooperation with our friends at G-3D-PrintThe front cover of the jetski was scanned using Artec Leo in 15 minutes (including chalc sraying, markers, etc.) and the post-process workflow took about 60 minutes in Artec Studio. The jetski belongs to the world champion György Kasza and his team. The purpose of the scan is to make a perfect fit bespoke fabricated composite cover, therefore some reverse engineering was necessary to get a native CAD data (step) to be able to machine the mold for the composite. For this, weve sed Quicksurface’s Autosurface option to get the nurbs surface based on the HQ mesh. 3D scan of a Eastern moa (Emeus crassus) skeleton from the Pleistocene. Moas are extinct birds that lived on New Zealand. This skeleton was gifted to the museum by Dr. Julius Ritter von Haast.
This specific skeleton is housed backstage, but complete skeletons of both a giant moa (Dinornis maximus) and another Eastern moa are number 77 of the NHM Top 100 and can be found in Hall 30 of the NHM Vienna. Three more skeletons of different moa species (Dinornis struthioides, Dinornis elephantopus and Dinornis gravis) are displayed in the Ice Age (Eiszeit) corridor.
