Minerva's head “The gilt bronze head of the goddess Sulis Minerva is one of the best known objects from Roman Britain. The head is probably from the cult statue of the deity which would have stood within the Temple beside the Sacred Spring, and may well date from the first century AD. The sundial is designed 1924 by artist Roman Haavamäe on the Haapsalu, Estonia seaside Promenade. The face of the dial depicts the life of man – starting with a child and ending with an old man supported by a cane. It shows the local sun time, which is about 90 slower than daylight savings time.
Sundial was destroyed in 1945 but sculptor restored it 1960.
