This mastodon (Mammut americanum) calcaneum was 3-D scanned with a Go!Scan50 scanner on December 10, 2018 at the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia. Repository specimen number ANSP 13160. It was recovered from Big Bone Lick, Kentucky by William Clark in 1807 for Thomas Jefferson. Courtesy of the Academy of Natural Sciences.
