Second university project, to create a floating island diorama Went for all assets having relatively low pollys to have a fuller, busy impression. My aim is to create a story by portraying a witch’s island of books, with her oragami birds and fish, aswell as her dragon Familiar. I tried to make most of the pages unique and included references to the dragon on a few of the books. Not too sure about the colouring, was intending to have far more pinks and turquoises to aid a magical feel but ended up rather brown. Willow trees are my favourite so went for a magical pink fantasy one. Struggled a lot with the composition of the island and in hind sight would like to move everything around, but overall semi-happy. A random lowPoly character i’ve modeled from scratch just to practice. There was no planning and no sketch, you can tell by the final result. I now see several problems with it: long ass arms, bad composition for the oufit, a generalized indecision between realistic or cartoonish proportions… But anyway, the point was to warm up the zbrush, maya and substance painter. Yet another zelda fanart! I guess ocarina of time is such an Iconic game I couldn’t resist doing ganon! It was first sculted on Zbrush and then shoved into blender for retopo, the textures were made on substance painter, I guess this is the reason why my room was so hot this summer haha! I didn’t really like ganon’s design in smash bros ultimate and i always wonder how this fearfull creature would look like in hd, that’s why i tried to recreate the dark lighting of the orignal OOT, i think it makes him look so much more terrifying! They did such a wonderfull job with the lighing, composition and silhouette that I can only try to imitate such great scene! It was also mainly modeled with the original ganon artwork for ocarina of time, as there was no other artwork in this style, it made the whole thing much harder but it was a fun creative exercice, having reference is good and using them is appreciated but i just love wondering how something would look like in 3d, and is to me a usefull skill 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 48173 polygons.
