A small ancient Egyptian cat head made of a copper alloy from the collection of Bolton Library and Museum Services. The head is unprovenanced, but these objects are particularly well-attested at the sites of Bubastis and Saqqara. In ancient Egypt, the cat was associated with the goddess Bastet, and many objects like this were created to be given in offering at temples and necropoli. This cat head features pierced ears and finely detailed eyes which may have held some form of inlay. The Sun Temple of Modhera is a Hindu temple dedicated to the solar deity Surya located at Modhera village of Mehsana district, Gujarat, India. It is situated on the bank of the river Pushpavati. This ancient and traditional bell is located inside premises of “Jesthavarna Mahvihar” in Kathmandu. Mahavihar are monasteries that are usually two stories tall, very much important to cultural community called “newar” who are Kathmandu’s historical inhabitants. It is said that by ringing the bell, the devotee informs the deity of his arrival. This bell is beautifully carved and stands together with Buddha and other statues at the top. Here’s a project I’ve been working on for the past month and a bit, inspired by the Southern Air Temple location in Avatar The Last Airbender. This was mainly exploring environment building inside of Unreal Engine, and experimenting with wind simulation inside of Houdini.
