This is the same handgun that’s used by the Los Angeles Police Department’s Special Weapons and Tactics team, which entered service from 2002 to present. Since around the 2010s, LAPD SWAT has upgraded their Kimbers to have a picatinny rail frame, which allowed the mounting of flashlights. The SureFire x300 series remain their main flashlight attachment of choice.
