This is my scene for the Howest DAE diorama assignment. Before starting my studies at DAE I went on a summer trip to Norway and found the nature there, and in particular the forests, to be very inspiring. I tried to capture some of that experience in the foliage and landscaping of the garden. My main goal for this scene was to make it feel like a believable whole while still keeping a strong overall composition. I really tried to push myself on this one so any feedback will always be appreciated. I did my best to convey the forest loner’s story of why he lives where he does. He may be an art thief but I didn’t want to commit any actual art theft myself, so the paintings are just some photographs, mostly from Norway. My entry for the “Fisherman” challenge on the WeeklyCGChallenge!! I came back to 3d after a long summer break with almost three months without any modeling. And it was a real blast to work on this and recover de hobby. The scene features the Andrea Gail, the fishing boat that was lost at the sea during the “Perfect Storm” on 1991. Also, a great chance to try the Screen Space Reflections on the water, which really add to the scene. Modeled with Blender, textured with Quixel Suite.
