This was my summer project before starting second year at DMU Game Art, although due to some module mix up, I spent about 3 weeks revisiting it on and off. The brief was to make a 10m x 10m realistic-style castaway island, using substance painter to texture. I originally planned to do a pirate-themed island and made extra props, but realised that they just didn’t work at all with the scene. Instead I’ve kept it very basic and natural. I started making a character inspired from the logo of Chocotaco, a twitch PUBG streamer. I was happy with the result but it wasn t enough ,so i started building an enviroment around him…loosely based on PUBG’s Miramar map. I wasn t following a plan or any concept…i just modeled alot of stuff and threw them in. The logistics got out of hand pretty quick and the whole project became a nightmare as it was coming to an end with the animation and texturing in mind.
