El castillo de Puebla de Alcocer o castillo de Alcocer, es una fortaleza del siglo XV, concretamente de 1445, año en el que el rey don Juan II donó la Puebla de Alcocer a don Gutierre de Sotomayor, Maestre de la Orden de Alcántara. Este castillo desempeñó un gran papel por los años de 1400 a 1490 en las guerras contra los moros de Granada, contra el rey de Portugal, como así mismo las contiendas entre esta familia y el Reino de Toledo por la posesión de Puebla y su término territorial.
