This is a 3D model is from a laser scanning survey of the remains of a slave house chimney (Chimney 3) from the Stafford Plantation on Cumberland Island National Seashore. The Chimneys are a series of 26 hearth and brick remains in three parallel rows that are found nearby the main Stafford plantation house. The site is undergoing restoration treatments and our 3D survey was performed prior to that work, digitally documenting and preserving the site for archival purposes. Our 3D work is additionally assistive with preservation planning and supportive of management needs, and can be utilized for structural repair documentation, monitoring, and condition assessment. Using these models, 3D prints can also be made to examine construction techniques in tactile ways. The resultant 3D models also serve as educational and outreach tools, and promote the importance of these significant and imperiled touchstones to the past 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 457992 polygons.

While George Washington did have dental troubles for much of his life, the story that his false teeth were made of wood is false. George Washington had dentures made of many materials, including human teeth. In the 18th century, it was common practice for dentists to purchase teeth from poor people for use in dentures or tooth transplants. 1784, Washington purchased nine teeth from several “Negroes,” for 122 shillings, which is less than a third of the payment advertised to poor white Americans. They were likely enslaved people living at Mount Vernon.
