According to this apartment-type dormitory project, 8 houses were built in Leningrad (USSR), two of which received a round extension for public institutions. The only building outside of Leningrad, the dormitory of the Krasny Oktyabr factory in Vitebsk, was built in 1979. The Belarusian building is distinguished by the number of floors (18) and facade finishing. Among the people, the house received the nicknames “Glassful", “Corn", “Barrel". Due to the strange layout, there was a tale circulating around Leningrad that these buildings were masking missile silos hidden inside. One of the residents of the house recalls: “I still remember the first time I was looking for a way out - like Semyon Farada in The Enchanters! All doors are the same. And the corridor never ends! How to get off the floor? And, most importantly, I can’t find where I came from either … I squatted down and grabbed my head until someone came out to smoke." Control Tower for the El Dorado Airport, Colombia
As part of the expansion program for the Eldorado Airport, the existing control tower will be demolished to make way for the new terminal building. The new tower is designed to meet the functional requirements of controlling air traffic and becoming a symbol for the airport and the city of Bogotá. The form of the tower makes references to the mythology of the Muisca culture, and the legend of ‘Eldorado’ from which the airport derives its name.
