Las antefijas o imbrices extremi son elementos decorativos que desde época arcaica se usaban en las extremidades de los ímbrices que unían las tegulas de marmol o barro cocido en los tejados de los edificios.
Las antefijas se realizaban habitualmente mediante molde, y se ha propuesto a Gracurris (Alfaro) como posible taller de origen de los siete ejemplares rescatados en Turiaso, dada la recurrencia en dicho taller de los motivos representados en ellas.
Si bien este tipo de piezas solían ubicarse en edificios públicos, hemos de reseñar que los ejemplares procedentes de Turiaso son el resultado de su rescate en intervenciones de urgencia en diversos lugares del actual casco urbano: Calle Barrio Verde, Calle Gutierrez Tapia, Casa de la Vicaria y Pradiel, distantes entre sí, no conformando una aparente zona edilicia.
