Bien que ce n'est pas la traduction du nom arabe de la porte (qui trouve probablement son origine dans la langue italienne), Bab El Finga est connue en français sous le nom de « porte de la potence » ou « porte de la guillotine ». I saw this cuneiform tablet in a glass case in the musée de Picardie (Amiens-France).
I was immediately stunned by the beauty of this “3D” writing. Unfortunately it wasn’t easy to see inside the case.
So I made a few photos (through the glass case, hence some blue fringes here and there) and here it is !
